Criticize me!
April 24, 2008Criticisms are surely agonizing for a creative writer… its something that I must cope up with in pursuing such endeavor…
A friend during highschool told me when i ask her an advice about my writings… "you don’t write for those people who criticize your works… you write for your self…" I thought…she’s write! Oopss.. wrong spell… I mean she’s right! Her name is Gem and she loves writing about thrilling and scarry stuff that deals with social issues…such as teenage suicide… rape victims…. etc… I quite miss her actually.
I wrote my first short story when I was 14 years-old… it was entitled "The dessert creatures". I asked an editor in our highschool writing guild to read it and she was a little fascinated… she retorted "how cute"… if it isn’t the worst criticism I’ve ever hear… Whatever anyway… Everyone who would read it was acting the same thing… it was a simple fable that expresses symbolism which I think they were not able to see…
After highschool I didn’t even include Journalism or Literature as a course choices for college… this is because lots of good contemporary writers were not actually a graduat of such course… In fact, most of them are graduate several science-based courses… THough, I’m still hoping that one day I could attend seminars or formal classes about writing… My dream is to publish my own book…hehe… anyway… I want to say good luck to all young aspiring writers of my generationg…
Bwahaha!
